The last days of the digger....

Rowan had the digger for the last time this weekend!!He has become quite keen on this one. I think he would like to keep it... Hmmmm

Rowan's just 'shaping up the lawn so it looks a bit better'.

And the garden shed got moved to its 'final' resting spot! AGAIN. The window still isn't fixed.

And finally, the last job for the digger was to dig the water tank platform. The concrete tank should be in by Friday, ready for the rain?

Roof is nearly on. Two sheets to go!
Windows go in tomorrow :)
Only 4 days till moving day.

Oh and just when all the digger work was over.... The driveway got a bit wet.
And this happened.

Moving Along

Rowan has nearly finished re-digging up the driveway. He's just widening the parking space so our visitors have somewhere to turn. This is also to make a pad for the digger to sit on so that he can dig out the water tank pad. Hopefully that will be delivered next week :)

Shed is coming along. The roof is nearly on
The windows have arrived. Rowan said he thinks the colour is a good one :))
Nearly there. Moving day - 7 days!!

Oh.. And the power and phone cable is in. Rowan has spent a loooong time digging the trench and laying cable. I think I'll let him use the first of the power :). Or make the first phone call??

It's rained quite a lot!!

No building happening last week at all. It hasn't stopped raining for 10days! Hopefully the builders get on with things next week- the sun is scheduled to shine for 3 days. 11 days till moving day!!!

But things have still changed around the land.

The grass has grown
 4 March
14 April!

And The water tank overflowed!

The Bathroom flooded! Doesn't help that the drain isn't really attached! Just something else to get on to.

All this rain has made time for researching. Lully gave us this garden guide to help us plan our garden. We've been looking at planting fruit trees on the septic field drains. Don't worry- it's fully safe to eat septic tank fruit ( goggle said)

Our first of probably hundreds of plants.
Two plum trees, loquat, pear and peach tree.
Still on out list: mandarine, nashi pear, apples and nectarine.
I guess I'll be getting into bottling??

The sun decided to show up for a bit today to dry out the framing.
We had the inspectors out today. They came prepared for the mud which has been created by...

Rowan digging the power cable. 150+ metre of trench to dig... And the clay is so glugggy.

We have a roof- sort of

Yes we have the roof frame on. That went  up on Thursday. No more progress since then because of the weather. Our water tank is nearly full!
Row and I went up today to measure out some bits an pieces. But the bench here, or there. Which way will the bed go? Maybe we won't put a door there??  I think it's going to be another tight fit. Or as Tammy says "nice and cosy"

Fingers crossed for finer weather next week for more progress!

18 days to go. Hmmm

Getting Ready

The framing has arrived!!!! Finally. Apparently we chose a roof colour that took longer than expected. So after seven weeks it's here and the builders are set to start on Wednesday. The Weather looks good for the week so here's hoping for a good start.

This weekend Rowan tried to dig the power trench but the ground was too hard, even for the mini digger. Instead Row tidied up the septic tank site, mowed the lawns and we both washed down the concrete slab- yes we are cleaning already.

We wanted to get the muck off before the framing goes up so it doesn't get it trapped inside.
We're now thinking about laying pine floors in the living areas??

Septic tank site all cleaned up. Next decision- where to put the water tanks???
