The new mower.

Another anxious bidding war on Trademe. This time it was not for a new oven, pot belly stove or shower mixer. We- and by we I really mean Rowan was in a bidding war for the new 'Masport'

A Masport does not resemble any item on my Wishlist but it sure ticks off Rowan's top item.

He's so happy with his new mower.
An old classic mower.

And these guys clean up what it can't handle

Here's the sheep getting quite close to my vege garden!

Looks like a new house

It's been another weekend with the digger. Rowan spent two days tidying up the gravel piles and spreading it out over the clay top driveway.  More plants went in over the weekend. Lots of natives and the rest of Susan's flaxes. We are waiting for rain so we don't need to carry buckets all over the place to water them.

The biggest change has been the batons going on the outside of the shed- and a nice stain to top it off. It looks so much better in real life than in these photos.

I live in a house with painted walls!

It all started on Friday morning. We were up and clearing out the lounge and kitchen. I couldn't believe that we were moving the furniture- in particular the chopping block, for the 20th time. 😩

It was a great weekend to have all the doors and windows open. Lucky because Rowan was about to make a. Lot of dust. We sanded the plaster for about three hours. Everywhere we turned there was more plaster to sand. Or Rowan would politely suggest
" a good job for you Maegs would be just filling in those few (hundred) nail hole" and everywhere I looked I saw layer upon layer of dust settling across and on everything! 😬
This guy was helping out for a while.

Now, it would be great to show you a photo of some painting progress, however it is quite hard to take selfies while rolling paint....
But I managed to drop tools to check on the 'driveway upgrade crew'
So by day Rowan dug and I painted, and by night we became 'blockaholics' and painted and 'dressed' the room untill 1am.
It was totally worth it though- look at what we woke up to in the morning....

 A perfect spot for relaxing!
And we painted over our lists so... That must mean we're done - right ?

The little things

There have been lots if little additions to our place over the past month. We were lucky enough to be gifted an entire flax plant from Susan- as long as you pull it out... And did we!!! Well yes, about 40 sections later we were set to plant out our bank with flaxes.

The vege garden has taken off. Rowan likes to cla this as his own... However he still had to turn over his grass patch! No veges from him yet.

This was when Rowan was enjoying the plastering. His enjoyment comes on waves. He's plastering the bedroom as has made some skilled improvements since plastering the bathroom.

And room complete. Such a nice change from gib!
We have some new trees to add to our collection. 15 exotic trees and loads of native plants thanks to Linda and Robert. Can't wait until they grow!!

And here are our little lamb friends. They will be popping over the fence sometime soon to eat out grass which has become too long for gummies.

Our next job is to gib stop and paint the living space, finish the fire surround and put the batons on the outside of the shed. The lists are getting shorter!
